Advotalk has supported students and staff in schools since February 2017.
To date (February 2024) we have supported 86 schools (primary, secondary, and pupil referral units) around Hull and East Riding, including children’s secure, and children’s residential settings.
We have engaged with over 1,122 students either one to one or in group settings, and engage with approximately 155-165 students a week.
In this time, we have conducted 22,791 sessions. Building positive and trusting relationships with both pupils and staff, offering a reliable support network for schools.
Currently (February 2024), we are supporting 45 schools weekly (primary, secondary, and pupil referral units) around Hull and East Riding, including children’s residential settings.
We continue to work hard building positive and trusting relationships with both pupils and staff, offering a reliable support network for schools week in, week out.
During the Covid lockdown (March to July 2020) we carried out 1341 contact sessions by phone or video with young people and their families, continuing to support them in unprecedented times.
We work in partnership with schools to ensure that students’ needs are always met.
Advotalk workers always adhere to schools’ Child Protection Policies and Procedures.
Any safeguarding concerns discussed in the sessions are passed on to a senior member of staff before the Advotalk worker leaves the school. The student is informed.
Advotalk workers have experience in either schools, children’s residential and secure homes or social care settings (safeguarding) and have full enhanced DBS certificates, professional and public liability insurance.
